Is it wrong to just want a comfortable, easy life?

May we understand our most valuable commodity in life is our time, and our energy, and the effort that we can put forth to glorify Christ. Our life is not for ourselves. Our lives are to glorify Christ in the service to other people around us. If we live like that, guess what we're doing? We end up living like Christ. Christ is the standard in his ministry: walking, preaching, teaching, feeding, healing, casting out demons, his whole life being a sacrificial, day after day existence of the service of those around him. When we live like this, we become like him. When we become like him, when we encounter him, we will know him. His glory will radiate into our souls, and we will be refreshed and rejuvenated. We hear these words from Christ, enter into your rest. You cannot enter into the rest if you've been resting your whole life. You only get to enter into the rest if you've been struggling, if you're exhausted, if you've been pouring yourself out, if you've been working hard and diligently for the kingdom of heaven. If you work like that in this life, then you get to rest in the next life. But if you think this life is a rest, if you think you're taking your ease and your comfort now, and you've got enough stored up, and you're going to kind of sail it out into eternity because you believe in the gospel, Lord have mercy, you are going to encounter someone who is going to disagree with you, and that someone is Jesus Christ, the judge of the entire universe.
