Why is my life not turning out the way I planned?

So often our attitude is lacking because things in our life don't come together how we think they should. Whether it's a promotion, or children, or a life decision, or an investment, or whatever it is that befalls us, our health, that is out of our control, all kinds of things. And then we often sit there and kind of begrudge the circumstances of our life, because we wanted something different. Our attitude was such that we had a preference. That a family member was supposed to live fifteen years longer than they did. Or we were supposed to have more children. Or I was supposed to already be married. Or whatever. This is this attitude that, really, the root of it is pride. The core is pride. I want things to go well in my life, and not just well, but according to my definition of what is well. This is the first area where people often fall short in their attitude and struggle, of course myself included.
