How bad is drinking compared to other addictions?
He calls alcohol 'playing with fire': at one end of the spectrum drinking can be a benign, normal part of life, and at the other it can destroy a person entirely. His concern is the majority who drink too much — he describes them as slowly and miserably drinking themselves to death and crushing their soul in the process.
