Is it crazy to get married young?
When I got married twenty-three years ago, some family members said basically, you guys are more or less crazy for getting married so young. We were getting married, I was twenty and my wife was twenty-one. And they said, you're going to go through so many changes in life. You're going to become someone different. You're going to become someone else. This is a person who had gone through multiple marriages. And I said, yes, but both of us want to become more like Christ. And so we're growing in the same direction with the same goal. And those simple words out of young idiotic me at nineteen years old or whatever have proven to be one hundred percent true, because we're growing in the same direction. We're growing to become more like Christ, more loving, more selfless, more serving, more willing to embrace the cross of life and the struggles and the sufferings. And all of those things have caused us to invest deeply in the relationship, in each other, in our relationship with God, with God being the focal point of our marriage, not each other.
