Church Life
What should I wear to an Orthodox church?
I always kind of say that it's summer wedding casual, basically, which is some kind of collared shirt, a polo is acceptable, slacks, some kind of shoes that make sense for going to church. But they can be comfortable. They can be running shoes if they need to be. For women, we say a knee-length skirt and something that is covering the shoulders, and obviously things that are not too revealing or have an open back or whatever else. We want to dress modestly, and then of course wearing a head covering, because this has been the norm since the time of the apostles. It basically is just modest clothing, something that won't distract anyone around you.
