If Protestants all read the same Bible, why do they disagree so much?

He argues that 'scripture alone' is in practice 'interpretation alone': each person reads the Bible according to their own desires, which is why the panelists, all committed to the Bible, cannot agree with each other on communion, baptism, or losing salvation. If everybody is contradicting each other while reading the same Bible, he asks, is the confusion with God or with man. Every Protestant, he concludes, becomes a little pope — his own Bible, his own interpretation, his own sect.
