Is it normal to think you married the wrong person?
I've been a priest for over 11 years. I've heard thousands of confessions, I would say probably 70 percent of which are from married couples. And I've noticed over the years, especially when you build rapport with somebody, they want to talk about the deeper things and thoughts of their heart. There will come a time in confession where they'll kind of lean in, get real serious, and say, Father, I think I married the wrong person. I almost want to ring a cowbell at that point, you know, in the confessional, like, you've joined the rest of us. You married the wrong person. Now that you've admitted it, now we can get down to the real work. Because the reality is that 98 percent of all couples believe that they married the wrong person. This is something that inevitably comes up in marriage. This thought, I made the wrong choice.
